The Salad Shop

Posted: March 21st, 2010 | Author: Yanda | Filed under: Environment, Graphic, Singapore | 1 Comment »

Nestled in a cozy corner of UOB Plaza 2 with a river view, The Salad Shop caters to the office crowd with a penchant for made-to-order salads and fresh food fast. The breezy décor and funky outfit provides a convenient get-away from the hustle and bustle of work for a hearty and satisfying meal.

The Salad Shop director, David Cheung, first started having the idea of setting up a store specializing in salads with gourmet ingredients as early as 3 years ago. “People are becoming increasingly particular about what goes into their food, the gap between customers’ wants and what was available then was just waiting to be filled. We also want to make healthy-eating fun and lots tastier. That way it will truly become a lifestyle instead of a “guilt-induced meal of salad after a binge”, says David. The Salad Shop serves up good food pronto, with fast-moving express counters. “Our concept eliminates queuing time, therefore making way for you to spend more quality time enjoying your food with your meal companion(s). We also work with suppliers to bring in seasonal items so that customers get to enjoy their food and value for money. Salads are priced from $6.00 each.” says David.

Ikushinsha Signage Campaign by Nosigner

Posted: December 13th, 2009 | Author: Yanda | Filed under: Environment | No Comments »

Japanese designer Nosigner recently completed this signage campaign for a cram school run by Ikushinsha, a publisher of educational materials. I think it’s so clever how an ordinary ruler, when adapted as a motif, can look so visually stunning. It is also the one iconic symbol of learning and growth – an object that all students use at some point in their studies regardless of the discipline.
